negotiate: the renewable energy deal

The scenario

Students work as negotiating teams for countries competing to win the World Trade Organisation’s GREEN Prize. To secure a share of the $1 billion fund, they must strike a trade deal with another country.

What it involves

  • Researching the other countries using the GREEN Prize’s AI agent

  • Networking with the other teams

  • Negotiating a trade deal with one other team

  • Writing a press release announcing their deal

  • Answering questions from the GREEN Prize committee

Who it’s for

Undergraduate and master’s students, particularly those doing degrees related to business and politics. You’ll need a minimum of 12 students to participate.

What students say about it

‘This experience was fantastic and provided a really effective insight into the strategies, hard and soft skills, and challenges that characterise international negotiations.’ Natasha, University of Birmingham, BA International Relations

Why I should consider it for my students

If you want to give your students the chance to practise a variety of communication skills in the context of a high-stakes negotiation challenge, this is the simulation to choose.

What it costs

The full simulation runs for half a day (3 hours). If you’d like to run it yourself, it costs £2,500 + VAT to licence the materials to run it for one cohort of students or £4,000 + VAT to run it for two cohorts. If you’d like us to run it for you, in-person on your campus, it costs £5,000 + VAT.
