pitch: the next hit tv show

The scenario

Students form production companies to pitch a new show to a TV network. Their idea must be original and have ‘crossover’ potential, appealing to an underserved audience segment as well as primetime viewers.

What it involves

  • Creating an audience persona as part of their market research

  • Brainstorming a story concept that will hook the audience

  • Designing a lead character that will resonate with the audience

  • Storyboarding the concept

  • Pitching the concept

Who it’s for

Undergraduate students through to mastersstudents. Particularly those doing degrees related to marketing and creative subjects. You’ll need a minimum of 9 students to participate.

What students say about it

‘An incredibly valuable experience that taught me a great deal about the assessment centre process, group dynamics, and how to contribute effectively under observation.’ Hugo, Oxford-Brookes University, BA Marketing

Why I should consider it for my students

This simulation is designed as a job interview ‘assessment centre.’ If you want to give your students the chance to practise their teamwork and communication skills under observation by potential employers, this is the simulation to choose.

What it costs

The full simulation runs for half a day (3 hours). If you’d like to run it yourself, it costs £2,500 + VAT to licence the materials to run it for one cohort of students or £4,000 + VAT to run it for two cohorts. If you’d like us to run it for you, in-person on your campus, it costs £5,000 + VAT
